I’m interested in what happens when narrative control is exchanged for a more ambient environmental experience. Chance is the potential to suggest bridges and links that require the viewer’s (or listener’s) active engagement — more as a co-creator than as a passive receiver.
I am reminded of Ludology and the study of events and actions that take place during play (as in a video game), in contrast to narrative and the study of how stories are made and work (with a predetermined beginning, middle, and ending). Or those non-linear ‘which way’ books.
There are many ways to create the conditions for an experience.
