Objectified Turned 15 Today, Watch it Free!
My documentary about industrial design and product design premiered 15 years ago today at the SxSW Film Festival.
Fifteen years ago, on March 14, 2009, "Objectified" had its World Premiere at the SxSW Film Festival. I really can’t believe it’s been that long! A lot has changed in the world of design over the past 15 years, but I still feel the themes we explore in the film are even more important today.
To celebrate, we’re streaming the film free worldwide this weekend, now through March 17th.
Some of you have seen the film already (others maybe not?) and I’d love to hear your favorite moments, or any stories you have about the film. Many people have told me it inspired them to pursue a career in design, which is so incredible. And I’ve heard about several first dates >> marriages >> babies inspired by it too…
Objectified (2009, 75 minutes) is a documentary film about our complex relationship with manufactured objects and, by extension, the people who design them. What can we learn about who we are, and who we want to be, from the objects with which we surround ourselves? With Paola Antonelli, Chris Bangle, Andrew Blauvelt, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Tim Brown, Dunne & Raby, IDEO, Bill Moggridge, Naoto Fukasawa, Jonathan Ive, Hella Jongerius, Marc Newson, Dieter Rams, Karim Rashid, Alice Rawsthorn, Smart Design, Jane Fulton Suri, Rob Walker, and more.
Happy Birthday, Objectified!
